Hello guys,

I just ordered a Python PS500 Alarm + smart start system. I am going to attempt to install it on my 2007 Civic coupe, auto trans.

I did a search in google and realized that not many people have installed these.

Anyone here ever installed one at all or on a Honda? if so, do you have any diagrams that helped you or tips?

Thanks
- Andre

It's a standard alarm remote start combo. Same as the viper and Clifford versions. Did you get a bypass module as well? Also only authorized DEI shops can activate the smart start and since you don't have remotes with this model you won't be able to test everything til it's activated

Also strongly advise against self installation unless you've done this many times before:-
DB-ALL 2 or similar Fortin product absolutely necessary, needs to be flash loaded with the vehicle make and model software.
Severe space limitations under dash in that vehicle.
Lack of remotes, apart from the point blanx made ref: programming, what if your phone fails or either your phone or car unit are in a poor signal area?

Test before boxing up.

Are you sure it doesnt come with remotes? I looked at pictures of the system and it comes with 1 remote.

Also, depending on the bypass that is used. The aftermarket alarm could be controlled by the factory keyless entry remote (if it came with keyless entry).

I bought a "Fortin Honda-SL3 Honda Data Bypass Self Learning Immobilizer Bypass hondasl3," from eBay , in the description it says no additional programming required, one remote also comes with the unit. I have installed a python before, with less feature. I'm just determine to do this myself.

@gad dam it, where in NJ are you from

I would have went with Xpresskit personally just because it matches up perfectly with the Viper unit. I never used Fortin before, so I can speak about them. Hopefully it works out for you.

Hello Guys, I am wiring my 2007 Honda civic 2 door as we speak. I am having issues with getting the car to at least crank with the remote. I have connected all wires from the Heavy Gauge satellite. (8 pin)

I connected the:
constant power input (red +) 12 Pin (remote start)
Ground (black) 12 pin (remote start)
Door trigger input zone 1 (green -) 12 pin (remote start)

there is still a few wires from the remote start 12 pin that I havent conneted yet.

I did not put on the bypass yet either... but should the car at least crank or maybe I am missing mandatory wires?

any help would be appreciated.
