Hi all, I'm looking for some help installing the crimestopper RS-4 G4 into my 06 Ford fusion S. The only function I want is the remote start from my OEM key fob. I have found wiring diagrams and the like and have the following connected so far:

12 VOLT CONSTANT BROWN / RED (+)      @ the battery

STARTER      BLUE/WHITE (+)      @ IGNITION SWITCH HARNESS

IGNITION 1      WHITE/ ORANGE (+)@ IGNITION SWITCH HARNESS

ACCESSORY /HEATER BLOWER 1 PURPLE / GREEN (+)@ IGNITION SWITCH HARNESS

PARKING LIGHTS ( - )      GRAY (-)      @ HEADLIGHT SWITCH

POWER LOCK      GRAY / YELLOW (TYPE B)      IN DRIVER KICK PANEL

BRAKE      PURPLE / WHITE (+)      @ SWITCH above BRAKE PEDAL

I also have the tach wiring running to a ignition coil.

ok, there are a few wires not connected yet but when I plug in the harnesses to the RS4 "brain" I get relays clicking and the dash lights up along with the "door ajar" ding. The LED is lit dim and it just cycles through this until I unplug it again. I'm afraid I might mess something up if I continue so I'm looking for assistance. I would also like help in continuing the wiring.

Thank you

Sorry I forgot that one. It is connected to a good body ground.

So I rechecked the Ground, 12v, ignition, and the account/blower wires they all seem to be correct. So that leads me to believe that its one of the "trigger" wires are incorrect. Also, do I need to have the antenna hooked up?

It was the door lock wire. I need to program the unit for the OEM setup first. Thank you for all the replies.

With the OEM keyless entry do I need to connect the OEM alarm disarm and rearm wires from the crimestopper? If so, what wires do I use since my wiring diagrams don't specify these two wires?

OK thanks. One extra question, I don't have a keypad on the outside. Also, the the gray/brown for the lock motor, will that give me the (-) negative pulse?

I was looking to get the Xpresskit pkfm bypass module. I can't seem to find if the data to data feature is compatible with the data port on my rs4 g4. Anybody know?

now I'm at a loss. I don't have a PURPLE / brown wire for the oem disarm and now that I have the unit programmed I went to reconnect the "door unlock" wire back and it tries to start the car. I metered the wire and it shows 2.56v/dc and when I push the unlock switch it drops. I can't figure out why it tries to start when i connect that wire

I did some testing and found that the start activation wire from the rs4-g4 has 3.75 volts on it. The the wire coming to the door locks has about 2.6 volts on it. When I connect these wires which I assume is correct, the vehicle tries to start with no input from me other than connecting those two wires. Is the difference in voltage causing the remote start to activate? If so how to I correct this?
Thank you

your star activation wire needs to be connected to this lock motor wire ...Lock Motor      gray/brown      5 wire      driver kick or SJB, conn. E, pin 17
you might need a relay-test the wire to see if its a ground with out hitting the lock switch.

Ok thank you. According to the wiring diagram I got from ford yesterday one wire does go to ground. I will try it and post the outcome. Thank you again.

Ok, it tested to ground. Now that I have that wire connected I programmed the remote start to look for three ground pulses to start the car but the car keeps trying to start on the first or second lock press. I'm not sure what to do from here. Also, do I need to connect the OEM Alarm Disarm wire? I don't have the rearm wires since I don't have a keypad. I did find the Disarm wire.

Any ideas what to do about the 3 lock pulses? It tries to start with one or lock button presses.

Are you using a relay to convert the door lock motor wire from a positive pulse to a Negative? You'll need to wire in a relay if you haven't already. That wire rests at a ground when not used and pulses Positive. So the crimestopper is sitting at your first ground pulse. Wire in a relay like so:

85 & 87 - ground
86 - door lock motor wire (Lock Motor-gray/brown in the driver kick or SJB, conn. E, pin 17)
30 - crimestopper activation wire

Oh Man thank you so much! I was just out there trying to figure this out. thank you

I'm still needing assistance with this install. After connecting the activation (green) wire from the crimestopper to a relay and the Lock Motor      gray/brown      5 wire      driver kick or SJB, conn. E, pin 17 it seemed to work fine till I drove the car. When I use my left turn signal it triggers that same relay and when I go to shut the car off it stays running unless I hit the brake to shut it off. This is only when the Left turn signal is used first. I did a little test: The relay doesn't feel to activate when pushing the lock button but you can certainly feel and hear it when using the left turn signal.

What if I use the Power Lock gray / YELLOW - driver kick or SJB, conn. C, pin 4? this wire shows a little over 2 volts then to ground but I can't connect this directly to the Green activation because that wire is showing 3.75 volts and the difference between the two activates the remote start how do connect this to the relay?

Saw on the wiring diagram that there are 2 gray/brown wires at connector E. I only saw the one so I will have to recheck

This is a PERFECT example of not testing before connecting....

You are on the left turn signal wire... Connector E PIN 11!!

You need to be on pin 17 of the same connector.

Pin 11 and 17 are the same color wire...Gray/brown

To properly test, You need to put your black test lead from your meter to ground. Put your red probe wire on the suspected wire and hit lock on either the door panel or the remote.

You can not use the negative lock wire. That is the door panel switch wire. That'll work if you want to sit in the car and hit lock on the door panel 3 times, but from the remote it wouldn't work. You need the door lock motor wire and convert the signal from a positive to a negative using a relay.

would you be able to show me the way to wire this relay? I have the positive trigger wire but it is only showing a little over 2 volts then to ground when i push the unlock button on the key fob. I looked through the relay wiring diagrams on this forum but didn't see my application.

did you try this yet ?

85 & 87 - ground
86 - door lock motor wire (Lock Motor-gray/brown in the driver kick or SJB, conn. E, pin 17)
30 - crimestopper activation wire

I have to find the other gray brown wire. I only saw one and it was the left blinker. I have to recheck the plug and try again.

It worked thank you. I have to get the PATS unit programmed but I only have one key so I have to call the dealer.
