Subject: siren not functioning properly

Purchased a 5706v from authorized dealer with the intent of installing, I know A/C very well & enough D/C to get me into trouble so I decided to hire an authorized installer to hook it up. Had it done yesterday & all worked well till mid day today I noticed lock/unlock chirps weren't working so I checked alarm siren & siren was very faint, only horn! Verified with installer about doing a little troubleshooting so I checked siren ground & it was good, disconnected positive from alarm & went to good positive & siren worked fine! Disconnected horn from engine compartment & connected + directly to siren output (brown wire in 6 pin main harness) from brain & - to good ground... result was constant faint siren! Arm, disarm, turn on ignition & nothing turned it off! Other than faint siren everything seems to function properly from horn & flashers going off when alarm is triggered , remote start, arming, disarming & triggers!

Any thoughts on possible problem? Will be meeting up with installer in next day or so but curious if anyone might know cause ??

Measure voltage between the black and red on H1, sounds like a poor ground to me, also check you get 12V+ from brown on H1 when you arm and disarm, err, BTW why didn't the installer notice this?

I'll check voltage & ground on H1 after work today, as far as voltage on H1 (brown) it was under a volt! Installer is supposed to possibly look @ it later today as well but to be honest, I'd rather find problem & solution myself considering siren has insues 24hrs after install?

Thanks for input Howie!!

you conected your car horn directly to your alarms siren output?

Oh damnation sorry Itsyuk I just noticed that in the first post.
Shovel I'm afraid your unit is toast, you've blown the siren circuit.

I was wondering
Where did I say I hooked horn to siren?
Lol....

But I made up for it when I said
"constant faint siren" lol!

I know siren ground is good, gotta check H1 ground (like Howie said) sense it's still sending siren (just very faint) ground makes sense!?!?
