ok so i have a 98 maxima i just installed an aftermarket r.s/alarm/keyless entry in an everything working fine. this car did not come factory with an alarm/keyless entry so 98 maximas did. so my problem is i have a unitech 335 r.s/alarm system that i installed but i can not get the trunk to pop with the remote. i went to a junk yard an got the little motor that would pop the trunk in my car if it had that option, i did get this motor out of another 98 maxima that did have this option. i also got the relay that was next to the pop motor for the trunk. i put the motor where its suppose to go an i connected the wire that goes to it ,it plugged right in an i also plugged in the relay as well. my trunk pop wire on my r.s/alarm is grey sn i connected to purple yellow wire that this site says is my trunk pop wire an trunk pin. there are 2 purple yellow wires i tried both,an still cant get my trunk to pop with remote. any ideas? btw i tested the pop motor an yes it works. i tried this with a 775 relay an without, an i tried with an without the factory relay i got from junk yard with the pop motor an that doesnt work either. my trunk pop wires are negative. i wired the relay like this 87 went to trunk pop wire in the car,30 grounded,86 12v constant fused 10 amp, an 85 to trunk pop wire on my alarm., 87a not used. what am i doing wrong??

The trunk pop from the alarm is (-) pulse, right?

So:

Trunk POP signal wire from alarm, to Pin 86 of relay.
+12V Battery to Pin 85, and also to pin 30, same source, two spade connectors.
Pin 87 to the trunk MOTOR/RELEASE mechanism.

The trunk release, installed correctly, is grounded to the chassis, and needs +12 to pop the trunk.

Take the two wires from your motor wire one to a good ground.
Take the trunk release wire from your unit, make sure it actually goes to ground when you press the trunk release on your remote fob and join to relay 85.
Constant 15 amp fused to 87 and 86.
30 to trunk release.
Diode 1N4004 across the coil, 85 to 86, band side to 86.
PS Though the same colours, trunk release and trunk pin or trigger are NOT the same.

Amateurs assume, don't test and have problems; pros test first. I am not a free install service.
Read the installation manual, do a search here or online for your vehicle wiring before posting.
