Hello Everyone,

I own a 2000 Honda Accord V6 with a Viper 5900 alarm installed. I recently purchased a Viper 7701V Responder SST Remote Transmitter to replace the remote i lost. I have performed the following but still have been unsuccessful programming the remote.

1. Open door
2. Insert key in ignition, turn ignition to on
3. Push valet button once then release then press it again hold it down
4. Alarm chirps once (blue light blinks once)
5. I then press the lock button on the replacement remote
6. Alarm chirps
7. Once the alarm chirps, I release the button for the valet and replacement remote. However, I receive the error sound from the replacement remote as if it did not take accept the programing.
8. I take the key out of the ignition and try the remote but receive an error sound from the remote when attempting to lock/unlock the doors with the remote.

Can someone please assist me with this? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

The remote is going to give the error sound during programming. It doesn't receive a signal back from the alarm during this process. The only issue I see is with holding down the lock button of the remote. Once in programming mode press and release the lock button. After the chirp let go off the valet button. When you turn tthe key off you should hear a couple of quick long chirps. Once I get to that point I usually cycle the key a few times and then try the new remote. If it still doesn't work take the battery out of the remote for a couple minutes and Unplug the long white harness (the one with the ground in it) for a couple minutes. Put it all back together and try it again
