Hey Guys, so I did 2 remote starts so far bare with me.. (My 2013 STI, and 2001 Dodge Dakota).

This is a 2002 Jeep Wrangler. No door locks, no chip in the key.

Should be simple right? Not for my dumb ass.

So I wire the ignition harness and then I got to wire the Primary harness.. and where I am use to seeing a 12v + and a Ground wire I have to connect is not there.

I see a ground input but nothing to power the unit. So I said okay I guess it is running off of the ignition harness.

I grounded the Ground input wire and figured I was good to go.

Nope.. I have no idea why I cannot get the Red LED to light up for anything.

Any ideas why? I am desperate here.

You should be getting power from your ignition harness. Check your connections and fuses. Also, check your grounding location, make sure it is solid and actually a chassis ground. Verify that you have power all the way through the ignition harness, starting at the connection to the car, then on both sides of the fuse holders, and finally at the connector itself. If all is good there, try unplugging all harnesses from the brain, the reconnect them, connecting the ignition harness last. If all that fails, it could be a bad unit.

In what way are you trying to get the LED to light up? If the system is fully installed and the remotes are preprogrammed you should have door lock output upon command whenever the ignition is off.

With that and previous recommendation, make sure both your red ignition leads are receiving power.

Unit is just a remote start so no door locks.

The led is on the unit itself. There is no LED indicator on the antenna for this unit.

The directions say you can hold down the valet and program stuff and you will see the LED.. I see nothing.

When I hit the remote start button on the remote I hear no relays.

A buddy gave me a replacement brain from an Avital. It looks the same and he said it should work. So if worse comes to worse I will try the other brain.

Black white i have running to the toggle switch and then to a ground.

I didn't even connect the brake wire yet.

I wanted to see it light up and start first.

Is that an issue?
