Date Posted: October 03, 2014 at 8:39 PM

I have the viper 5706v installed in my 2005 camry le 4cyl. Lock and unlocks work but it won't remote start. I have changed the settings for automatic transmission. Now I don't know what to do? I'm pretty sure everything is wired correctly. My car doesn't have the transponder because I checked for the wires.

Won't remote start is quite vague. What does it do when you remote start it? It also would help if you could list what wires you have hooked up.

Bulldog shows that this car has two starter wires AND two ignitions wires.
You will need to use the H3/7 Pink/White as either a starter wire or an ignition wire. This is the Flex relay that can be changed to either Starter, Ignition, or Accessory. This comes as Ignition 2 from the factory. Menu 3, Item 8, Option 1, Ignition 2, Option 2, Accessory 2, Option 3, Starter 2.

Then you will need a relay to power up the other 2nd starter or ignition via the H2/10 or 2/18 depending on how you used the H3/7 wire.
H3/9 needs to go to a 12 volt source.
The statement below is from a wiring guide source. You may want to double check the starter wires with a DMM.

There Are Two BLACK / YELLOW Wires Please Check

H3/9 is 12 volts my mistake I copied and paste and edited the info. I confused as what you want me to do. Are you saying to keep the pink/white as ignition 2 default and connect it to the second ignition then what?

Then you will need a relay and the h2/18 (-) 200mA Starter output to power up the 2nd starter.

I believe I tried that before but no avail. It was wired like so.

86 & 87 12 volts fused 30amp
85 H2/18
30 starter 2

As far as starter 2 wire and ignition 2. Maybe I didn't identify them correctly but they should behave like their primary counter parts am I right?

You are correct. You should use a DMM to check each wire for its function. Wiring guides are just a guide.
Are you connection soldered or crimped?
Test each wire, make your connection, tape and then move on to the next wire.

But what about wiring the relay? How should I wire it?

I've tried that before but it didn't work. I'm gonna try to check the settings again for tach or flex relay and see. Not sure if those would conflict with it.

Here is a video I made up showing basic connections for a remote starter. I used a relay for Accessory 2 in this, but a second starter set up would be similar. All of the outputs are connected to lights to show the 12 volts being applied to each circuit.
Maybe it can help.

I did some more troubleshooting. H2/18 is not clicking the relay. I think it may be bad. Is there a way around it maybe a different output instead.

Try using the H2/10 for you 2nd Ignition and change the H3/7 to second Starter.

Have you put a DMM on the outputs of the H3 harness to see if there is any voltage?
Does the remote starter do anything when trying to start? Dash Lights coming on? Trying to start 3 time before stopping?
Any flashes from the parking lights to indicate a problem?

I haven't read the voltage on the harness. When I make h3/7 second starter do I have to change flex relay function to starter 2?

Do the following:-
Your original added relay that didn't work, have you tested it? Inputs and outputs, BTW did you put a quenching diode on the relay? If not you've possibly fried the H2 starter output.
Is the aux switch plugged in and on? Black plug.
Is the BLACK/ white on H2 either grounded or connected to handbrake switch?
Tach learned, connected violet/white on H2 to tach?
How have you made your connections?

Aux switch plugged in and on, BLACK/ white is grounded, starter 2 output definitely fried , flex relay function changed to starter 2, I didn't use a diode but I do have some just let me know where to place it,and my car won't learn the tach. I placed that wire on an injector probably should find the tach wire behind the glovebox BLACK/ orange.

Also can can anyone confirm if my 2005 Camry Le comes with an immobilizer? I only see the ignition harness and key sense harness under the steering wheel.

Diode = 1N4004 connected to 85 and 86, band to 86.
Tach, if there's a wire at pin 9 of your OBD ll data socket, that's a tach wire.
Can you go into programming mode via the control centre?
When it fails to start, listen for clicks from the brain immediately afterwards and count them or on the quick reference sheet, top right, perform shutdown diagnostics.

Sorry we crossed paths, easiest method for testing would be to try and hot wire, after you've tested to see which wire does which.
If it fails to hot wire then you have an immobiliser, also physically look for a plastic shroud around the ignition key switch, after having removed the cowling.
Here's a layout for a Tacoma I did some time ago:-
64B_tacoma.bmp
It's effectively the same as yours.

As for the second starter, use this:-
Take a thin wire, purple unused on H2 to H3 purple.
Join other end to relay 86, ground 85, again diode, band to 86.
Cut second starter, ignition switch to 87a, 30amp constant fused to 87 and starter side of cut wire to 30.
Also ignore the wires you've marked a need help.
Dome supervision not required, Toyotas already have it.
Connect your green at H2 to the switched side of the dome light.
