2011 subaru impreza double bypass

Hey guys,

First time posting here - i'm a basic certified installer working out of a small shop in Alaska.

I have a remote start scheduled on the 3rd of november for a 2011 impreza, std key sedan. This is the first time i've done an install that involved two bypasses so I was wondering if you guys wouldn't mind helping me out a bit :)

Brain: Astrostart RS 625
Bypass: Idatalink ADS-ALCA




There's the bypass guide for both.

So if I understand correctly, the easiest way to do this would be to place the immobilizer bypass in hardwire mode, and data the doorlock interface?

Can I wire up everything together in my prep? Both interfaces require connections to Can Hi and Can lo, can I prep those together on one wire and run it to the vehicle? I prefer to do as many of my connections during prep as possible. Can I have both bypasses powered and run before I start my install or do I need to do the key programming 1 at a time? Any other tips for me would be much appreciated :) Thanks guys, hope I got all the relevant info in there, if I need to answer anything else its not a problem!

Your on the right track but you could honestly just hardwire the door locks from the remote start and save the money from the second module. I've done it both ways. Some installers have a preference but I'm not picky.

Look at the guides you posted, there are more than one network in that car. The can wires don't go to the same two wires. You can prep this one the same as any other install. Not quite sure what you mean by "key programming 1 at a time". Both modules have programming instructions, just follow them and you'll be fine.

That actually sounds much easier... I don't know why that didn't occur to me! lol

And I see the two networks now, that slipped my notice before. And all I meant was I didn't know if both modules would program at the same time, or if I had to leave one from power, program the first, power up the second, then program it. I'll probably just be using locks from the brain now though...

I don't have my directed login at hand (I'm at home) How do I find out if the factory alarm disarms with unlock? It seems like there would have to be a reason for using a bypass for lock/unlock... am I going to have nightmares trying to play with the alarm if I don't use that module? I found a rudimentary guide and it looks like locks are just negative trigger somewhere on the underdash... It just seems to simple lol

Factory alarm disarms with transponder signal and ignition. But the bypass module for transponder WILL still disarm the factory alarm etc. the alarm only initializes with the door open and hitting lock any way. As long as you don't do that it wouldn't even be an issue. But either way just the one bypass module will take care of it.
