I have to start it 3 times in cold mornings, each time until the 3rd time, it will only run about 30 to 40 sec. The 3rd time it will stay running for the programed time. It will run the 1st time in the afternoon, just not on cooler mornings.

I'm wondering if the RS is using voltage sense to detect that the engine is running. A Cummins has intake heaters. They draw about 150 amps. On a cold morning the intake heater may stay on for over a minute after a cold start to reduce smoking during warm-up. The length of time they stay on depends on the ambient and coolant temperatures. Lower the temp, the longer they stay on. System voltage will be low while the heaters are on, and the RS may be detecting this low voltage and interpreting it as a "low RPM". After your 3rd try, the heaters go off, and voltage is higher.

You can query the 5706 to see what the last two RS shut-downs were triggered by. The procedure is in the Install manual for the 5706.

If the shut-downs are being triggered by low voltage, check what the RS is using for RPM sense. If it's "voltage", you'll have to change it to tachometer input.

There's some ideas.

Well, we have tried putting the checking mode in virtual tach, voltage, off, and tachometer, but still won't run first time, or runs in morning then says it is running and counter counts down on remote and lights are on, but engine is not running. Any sugestions ?

After it stops running, check the shutdown diagnostic, and report back. We need to know WHY it is shutting down.

To perform shutdown diagnostics:
1. With the ignition Off, press and hold the Control button (on Control Center).
2. Turn the ignition On and then back Off while holding the Control button.
3. Release the Control button.
4. Press and release the Control button. The status LED flashes to report the last
shutdown for one minute or until the ignition is turned on, as shown in the
following table:

1 flash Runtime expired
2 flashes Over-rev shutdown
3 flashes Low or no RPM
4 flashes Transmitter shutdown (or optional push button)
5 flashes (+) Brake shutdown
6 flashes Hood shutdown
7 flashes Timer mode/Turbo mode/Manual mode error *
8 flashes Neutral safety shutdown
9 flashes Low battery (voltage mode)
10 flashes Alarm triggered **
11 flashes Wait-to-start input timed out

* Timer mode error: Ignition is on or shutdown input is active when activating
timer mode.
Turbo mode error: Turbo mode is programmed off, engine is not on or shutdown
input is active.
Manual mode error: MTS mode not enabled.
** Alarm was triggered during remote start sequence

I will try and get the errors from each mode, may take me a while, my installer is not sure what else he can do, it is a installer at tint world, he has put 3 of these on my cars in the last 3 years. I work all day so will have try and get the errors has they happen and will send you the results, thanks again for your replys to me.

I started it remotely this morning with the engine check mode on opt 3, it started and continued running, I got in it and pushed the brake, put it in gear, put it in park, shut it off, the Just to see if I could work the startup diagnostics, I tried it, it looked like it give 4 errors or 4 different flashes 4, 5, and 10, is this normal, or am I not doing something right, sorry about me not being sure, but like I said, my installer has pretty well given up.

does this vehicle have a wait to start light? if so you have to set the unit to wait to start or connect the wire.

what year ram and find out what interface module was used.

It looks like you were successful at getting the shut-down codes out of it.

Remote start it cold. If shuts off after 45 seconds, that's when you should check to see what code caused it to shut down. I believe this is the problem that you're asking for help to fix, correct? That it shuts down after 45 seconds on a cold start.

I think Ted is on to it. A wait to start shutdown. And yes, year of truck and bypass used would be helpful.

It is a 2014 I6 turbo charged ram 3500, will have to find out what bypass was used. It is set to 15 sec. Delay. And it does have a wait to start light. When you start it by the push button, it does wait to start also. I have text into installer to find out what bypass he used.
