Installed a Dei Remote Starter 4103. Used Idatalink Transponder bypass. All wiring sheets state that the factory alarm is controlled only by factory remotes. No problem, the remote starter has its own remotes which will control the cars locks,unlocks etc.. Only downside is that you lose factory alarm.
So I thought, randomly after only using aftermarket remotes, the factory alarm arms by itself. Resulting in the alarm being triggered during remote starts and doors opening. No rhyme of reason behind it, random mornings the alarm will be triggered. Maybe 2 out of 5 days.
I searched the car for a disarm wire but to no avail. What gives with this car arming the factory alarm by itself? Again the factory remotes haven't been touched in weeks. I know that I can disable the alarm with the following procedure.
-Get in car close door
-Turn key to on position
-Press and hold unlock switch
-Open drivers door
-Wait 10 seconds "AL OFF" will be displayed on odometer screen.
Customer wants to keep alarm active just in case.

While exiting the car, try doing a lock from the drivers door switch, while the door is open. Then close the door and wait a few minutes.
This might be what is setting the Factory Alarm.
The iDatalink ADS AL-CA bypass module flashed with the AL(DL) SUB firmware will allow you to keep the Factory Alarm functioning.
You will have to do an Unlock before and a Lock after remote start-up. The car will be unlocked for about 5 seconds but the alarm
won't go off.

Locking while the door is open does in fact arm the system once the door closed. But this isn't what is arming the system. Only the aftermarket remotes are used to lock the doors.
I did see that a second idatalink unit would be needed to interface with the factory alarm. But when I initially did the install my objective was to just bypass the alarm all together. And it would have worked but for some reason, I cannot think of an explanation to it. But the system does arm itself randomly. And I cannot consistently reproduce it.

Just put the factory alarm in valet mode and call it a day.
