Hi all,
        I was talking to my coworker and he told me about t taps and scotch locks I goggled it found so many diffrent answers what is your thoughts using these ones on remote starter installation and security installation kindly share your thoughts for learners.

they are junk.
eventually fail in every application.
they are weak and damage the wire when clamped.

no serious installer uses them.

Plus corrosion and the vehicle vibration will also fail them apart from poor electrical contact. In fact here in the UK we aren't allowed to use them.

Not that I'd recommend it, but I think I'd rather strip the wire, do a poke and twist, then tape the connection verses using a t-tap. I've never been a fan of them. I've seen to many failed connections first hand.

I personally solder everything. There are enough variables in an install without me creating more. The more variables I can remove from my install the fewer problems I'll have to troubleshoot later on (hopefully). It also adds to the longevity of the installation too.

Just my thoughts.
