Hi All,
I am new to car security and remote car installation, I am trying to understand the theory of the components and the terms wildly use in installation, now i am having some trouble understanding why relays are used in remote starters installation is there is pre fab relay circuits which are universal and work for any vehicle circuit like door locks etc please guide me I need brief instructions or the links where I can read more.
     Thanks

Read the relay section on this site also, very informative.
Universal for door locks?
Actually 2 relays, one for lock and one for unlock but it's how they are triggered that makes the difference, I once got to 10 and gave up.
Then there are different types of relay too many to list here, suffice to say when I pick one up to use I look at the terminal configuration, 87, 87a, 87b.
And we haven't even started on diodes yet.

Heard that the diodes bands are "on the other side" in the U.K.  That would confuse me.
