Hi,
Compustar calls COM-Blade-AL, Omega calls OL-Blade-AL, etc.
Are these same as ADS-Blade-AL or anything different between
them. Like if I plug in ADS-Blade-AL into a Omega or Compustar
brains what will happen?

Just plugged a Omega OL-Blade-AL into a Compustar CM6200-s controller.  It is detected and can be flashed at the iDatalink WEB site.  Don't have any Omega EDPB units to test the reverse.

Standard warning re : the Blade modules memory size...  There are 32k, 64k, etc, modules.

ADS-BLADE-AL/COM-BLADE-AL
OL-BLADE-AL

depending on region, they sometimes lock the module for regional purposes. if the region lock doesn't apply you'll be fine. SImple breakdown.

ADS-BLADE-AL/COM-BLADE-AL/OL-BLADE-AL - identical in terms of features/flash.

OL-BLADE-AL in compustar brain, you wont be able to update the brains software. however it can be done separately.

with a compustar if you use the correct cartridge, you can modify the brain software/config right from www.compustar.idatalink.com

Thanks. One more question, about 32 bit and 64 bit blades, are they functionally same? Or have to use one or the other depending on application?

Some of the newer firmwares require the larger 64K Blade modules.  The WEB site doesn't specifically point this out, it just doesn't list any firmware that won't fit onto the 32K Blade cartridge you have plugged in when you select the vehicle. Same thing happens with older 32k ADS AL-CA modules.  If you are obtaining these modules from a normal distribution source, there will be no problems.  If you get them as "old stock" or off EBay, buyer beware.
