Hi . I did a install on a f250 yesterday . The remotes were communicating fine and now they have completely dropped . No response in programming all connections have been tested and re tested. It seems to be no response from antenna . Antenna wire isn't cut or damaged . I noticed red wire on antenna isn't showing 5 volts constant . Any ideas

For the small amount of time it takes to replace the antenna cable I would start there. If you tried to reprogram the remotes and they won't...I would say that the antenna and cable are the place to start. Often it is the most simple explanation that is the answer to the problem...good luck

i only have this unit on hand . Id really like to trouble shoot exact issue before removing all of it . I feel like it's the antenna connection at brain since the red wire is supplied with 5 volts. Ground at antenna is fine power isn't

Well Bat if you don't have an antenna or cable I hope you have experience with very small solder connections. Check the cable for continuity (all pins)...and if the one of the plugs don't have continuity it has likely been disconnected from the plug (tiny wires doesn't take much to dislodge them. If you find an open line and by some miracle you can reattach the cable...and I have done it once so I know it can be done give it a try...if not I hope you like doing board work cause your next solution is opening up the antenna or the brain. Which by my estimate is a warranty void at best. Wish I had better news for you...we get defective equipment all the time...its the nature of this field...Electronics are awesome when they work!

Audiovox has had some remote issues, but I thought it was only on the Pursuit PRO9556E but you should check yours.

Try the following:

---Do the green LEDs on the remotes light up? Regardless, remove the remote batteries and put them back anyway.

---Test the system somehow even without the remotes. Like try programming tach if you have that hooked up---you don't need remotes for that. Or see if it'll go into the transmitter-programming menu. Or ground the blue/black activation input and see if it starts up.

---Unplug power from the brain and put it back.

Truck starts when grounding activation wire. Tach programmed . Remotes light up . Haven't removed batteries yet. Ground wire on antenna show continuity . All wires continue for antenna end to brain end . Back to that red wire . If I'm understanding this wire should have 5 volts . It doesn't

Hmm, that is weird, then.

Sorry, I haven't yet installed any of the E models besides the remote start/keyless entry units. APS57E, APS622E, APS422E, APS901E. Hopefully I'll get to try an alarm/starter combo sometime soon.

If you can start it up from grounding the activation wire, that pretty much confirms your installation is good. Not much more to check out there.

Couldn't hurt to unplug the antenna and plug it back in. In fact, why not unplug and replug BOTH ends of the antenna harness? Just in case the connector isn't seated correctly or something.

I hear what you're saying about the 5 volts that's supposed to be on the wire going to the antenna; I've seen it in the guide. I suppose you could try to rig up some way to supply the power to it (hack apart an old Sirius/XM adapter maybe?) but that sounds like a lot of work and you could end up even damaging more stuff somehow.

Have you tried driving the truck to a new location, just in case there's some interference where you did the installation?

I wish I knew what else to tell you.

If your seller will warranty it for you, I would suggest sending in the brain, the antenna, the antenna cable, and both remotes and get all of that replaced. Hopefully the seller can comprehend that you'd like to leave the wiring installed in the car. Then when the new equipment arrives, hopefully you can just plug it in and reporgram your settings and it should hopefully work.
