Hey Guys,

Recently experiencing an issue with our remote starter. I think I know how to tell if it's not going to start, but I want to know the reason it's doing it.

Last night, went to the front window of the house to look at the car and start it with the remote. Nothing. I's been doing this intermittently... Sometimes it works, sometimes not.

It's not the remotes because it does the same with both of them and I've just replaced the batteries. But what I've noticed is that there's usually a flashing blue light on the antenna that's glued to the windshield. Well last night I noticed that it wasn't flashing.

From what I can tell, if it's not flashing, then it will not receive the signal to start.

Now, what would cause the light to not flash? Is it not sensing that the car is off therefore not 'arming' itself? I can't think of why...

Anything I can do? Or should I bring it back to the installer who's 1.5 hrs away... I'm pretty handy with electronics but all I have is the User Guide so I can't troubleshoot it properly.

Guy

I am certainly no expert but it seems its in valet mode, light generally stays solid in valet mode I believe, was it at the garage lately getting fixed and they didn't take it out of valet mode or has someone hit the button by mistake for valet mode?

also a loose/bad wire may cause this, some days you hit that right bump ....... some days you don't?

According to the user guide, Valet mode should make the light turn on solid. I don't get the light to turn on at all...

As for loose wire... Maybe...??? but the only thing it goes to the shop for is an oil change here and there so doubt that would cause an issue. I was thinking the hood switch, but it should still receive the signal, just flash the headlights and wouldn't start, it's not doing this at all...
