can't seem to find the bad boy. Its a black 7 pin plug but the one I found attached underneath the igntiion barrel has different color wires than the install manuals says. Anyone know where I can tap into the RX and TX data lines. Very frustrating

I can't find any black 7 pin plugs on top of the ignition barrel. Been looking around for 3 days now. couple of questions: 1. is it attached to the barrel and 2. if on top how do I get to it?

It should be the standard 7 pin transponder plug found on many Toyota vehicles at the ignition switch.  Pin 3 will be empty.
Pin 4 will be RX and Pin 5 will be TX.  There is conflicting info as the the wires' color.

Here is the info from iDatalink :
RX pin 4 GREEN / WHITE (DATA)
TXCT          pin 5 Blue / YELLOW (DATA)

Here is the info from DEI :
RX Immobilizer Pin 4 Light Green
TX Immobilizer Pin 5 Brown

keep in mind, most toyota/lexus have telescopic steering wheels. IF you have it set all the way back, you won't be able to find the plug you're looking for.

I installed on 2008 rx350 and found it underneath barrel. (End of barrel was ignition switch wires, under barrel closer to the the front [where you insert key] was connector for transponder. . Had to cut sleeve to gain access to wires. ... how this helps

thanks everyone I got it. The colors were different but the pins were right. BTQ it is the black plug UNDERNEATH the key cylinder. Now I need to figure out how to get heater to work when I remote start.
