hey guys,

I have an 06 jeep grand Cherokee and was looking at the 2 options for remote starts. I want a single button remote since my oem key is built into my remote and a im a big fan of viper and python so iv narrowed it down to these 2. can anyone tell me the difference between these two and which would be a better choice.

Viper 4211v

this python unit say its discontinued but my buddy has it for sale so I can still get it
Python 4218p

thanks guys

the remotes are identical inside, its the casing that's purely aesthetics.
A far as the brain goes, the 4211 has the new brain where the bypass is integrated inside.

With the 4218p, using an older style brain, you need a bypass module as well. The fortin works well for this vehicle.

so the 4211 would be the way to go since its an all in one/newest brain and I don't need anything else. where as the 4218 is older and basically outdated.

2014 technology vs 2013 technology. No difference when its going into a vehicle thats older than the technology available. keep in mind you need a programmer to flash the unit 4211 (unless your vendor does it for you)

4218 + fortin comes pre loaded ready to go out of the box. the t-harness will allow your install to be completed within the hour

thank you for explaining it to me since I don't know too much about remote starts. I went with the 4211. installer is charging 100 install and will bring it to his work to program the 4211. saves me the extra 120 for the fortin + install. I believe that the 4218 comes with the db-all, first version if im reading my link right. so either way seems like the 4211 will be a win for me and my pocket.

thanks again man. I appreciate it.
