I installed an alarm on a '94 Chev truck a few weeks ago. The owner did some work in the dash and ended up blowing the courtesy fuse. After the fuse blew, every time he armed the alarm it chirped three times indicating a door was left open. Why would the trigger wire for the doors be grounded because the fuse was blown? I was never able to check the wire itself, I just know that the alarm started working properly once the fuse was replaced. Any ideas?

sounds like that there might have been more to it...

but it works now.

the reason is there is more circuits on the light fuse

when there is no feed at the fuse the live going to the roof light gets earthed througheverything else connected to the fuse.ie radio or hazzards.

that slight earth then goes through the courtesy light bulb and to your alarm
