i had an APS25E installed. 2003 gmc sierra base model. power locks only. manual windows. this alarm does not have an illuminated entry. they want me to install another alarm. i dont see an output on the alartm that would power the dome light. only a pulse. i suppose i could figure out what door lock side they used ( neg or pos ) and use the other. lemme know if we have a better way. guess i could use a timer like the one from directed. here is a link to the alarm i got.

I have an idea for that.

If you open and close the door on the truck, the domelight should stay on for a certain amount of time and then go out.

Check to see how long the light stays on for, and make sure it's a long enough time to satisfy the customer.

Then, use two diodes to split your green negative unlock output. Put one output to the unlock wire in the car as usual, and put the other diode to the driver's door trigger wire.

So now, when the user presses "unlock" on the remote, the car unlocks, and the car also "thinks" that someone momentarily opened the door, which should trigger the light to come on.

NOTE: Depending on the timing, there's a possibility that the alarm will send out that unlock pulse before it fully finishes disarming, and the alarm might "see" the pulse on the door trigger wire and go off for a moment.

If that happens, you could still cut the car's door trigger wire in half at the BCM, put a diode inline......connect your alarm's door trigger to the "car" side of the inline diode, and the extra unlock output from the alarm to the "BCM" side of the inline diode. That way, only the car would "see" the pulse, but the alarm wouldn't.
