Hey i just got a Viper 4211v 2 way remote start with built in db-all2 bypass installed on my 06 jeep grand cherokee.

My hazard keep flashing which draws unwanted attention after i remote the jeep. Im bringing it back tomorrow to see if theres a way to rewire it so it doesnt flash the hazards.

What are suggestions/fixes that i can tell the installer to do to remedy the hazard flash?

Thank you in advanced!!

Program it to have no flashing lights on R/S

Yes but it would then flash your parking lights.
If you don,t have an owners manual, go to Viper.com support and download the owner.s manual, it should show you how to turn the flash on/off/constant.

That might be a programming issue, or the installer decided it would be easier to get the hazard lights.

Either way they should be on solid In my opinion

Pull the fuse out of the white wire on the 4211 and what ever it is attached to will no longer flash.

What Ted said is right.

Two two options on that car are the following:

---Send a ground from the remote starter to the hazard switch in the steering column
---Send a ground from the remote starter out under the hood, and tap it into the parking light relay in the underhood fuse box.

So, as you can imagine, they did it the easy way. It takes time to fish the wire under the hood, put black loom over the wire, cut or file a small notch in the fuse box cover for the wire to pass through, and figure out which terminal in which relay does the lights.

If it's a reputable shop, and you're nice and willing to call ahead and bring it in when they're slow, I don't think they should charge you anything at all to run the wire out under the hood. After all, that's the way it should have been done in the first place.

I've done a few of these using the hazards wire and gotten away with it, but I would never charge someone if they came back and wanted parking lights.

No in answer to your PM no I'm in the UK where G/Cherokees are somewhat rare and I always go to the indicators because outside of North America we always use indicators.
Our indicators are amber, North America white and red.

this may be true when the vehicle is facing you, but what about from the back? you will have no indication at all. your installer is cutting corners.

+1. Your installer fed you that line because he is being lazy.

As stated you will have no back lights and also you will find, when you are starting the car when it is dark, depending on where it is parked, your headlights will be shining directly into someone window or car when the parked facing you. It annoys people to death.

This is why as industry standard we "Always" tie into the parking lights, it notifies you from all 4 corners and doesn't blind people for 20 minutes while the customer waits for there car to warm up. and this fix can easily be accomplished with an additional 20 minutes of install time.

Where not making this stuff up. We know installers and the game.

all back lights come one.

i did mention it to him the options that were listed but he said that this was the only way.

installer was a co-worker of my friend at a car dealership that i bring my other car to and did it after hours on the side.

wish you knowledgable guys were around here!!

What he meant to say was, "This is the only way....that I'm familiar with)

It is 100% not the only way

print him out that page and see if he'll finish the job, its one thing if it was done as a favor but if you paid for it, tell him you want it done right.

It's literally 1 wire, through the firewall grommet to the relay, he doesnt even have to solider it, he can just rap it around the pin and push the relay back in.
