I have an 03 Ram quad cab 2500 diesel. Just had a compustar remote start installed. Installation was not as thorough as I would have expected and spent the first few days getting the remote start to work correctly. ( had to tap into ECM for cam signal and build a relay to pick up wait to start signal amongst other things)

My question is on the door triggers, about 32 to 35 seconds after the alarm is set it goes off. Remote says door trigger alarm. I have read about double diode isolating door triggers between the BCM and where I tapped into the door trigger wire. The doors are tapped in behind the gauge cluster and tracing the wired doesn't help. One side goes into the cluster and the other goes behind the dash heading towards the passenger side near as I can tell.

If I'm tapped in to the wires in the middle per say already have diodes isolating each wire heading to the brain, do I put the second diodes between the gauge cluster plug and my taps or between the back (dash loom) side of the taps? Thanks in advance

did you have it installed or installed it yourself?

If its an alarm system, I'm guessing its a FT6000 or FT7000?

The cam signal works great for tach. The compustar has the ability to wait to start by programming a delay Option Group 2, Feature 3, Setting 2 if you couldn't fine the wire.

look in downloads for Directfax document 1076. Personally, This task is quite tedious and I'd use the domelight wire instead.

Domelight (-) brown @ A pillar OR Courtesy light (-) Yellow @ Driver underside dash around the gas pedal. You must program a dome light delay though:

Option Group 3, Feature 2, Setting 2 (use setting 4 if dome light stays on longer than 5 seconds after locking)

I had it installed.   I would prefer to have the doors trigger as opposed to the dome light. Im worried if the dome light is shut off at the dimmer switch that the alarm wont sound. I built a negative switching relay for the wait to start, when thee grid heater fires the relay hits a negative signal to the keysense light. They were supposed to install a full alarm but I have the 7200, I added a siren to it and they installed a das module as well.

They tapped the wires behind the instrument cluster, will I need to a bond on that and tap the wires in the kick panel for door operation? Do the wires they tapped just go to the cluster for door ajar light?

I looked up that document, same as the audiovox one I found before. I just can't tell where the BCM is in relation to where the wires I'm working on are

The bcm is on the dash underside. I would suggest you bring it back and have them deal with it, as you paid for a professional install.

If you take on the job yourself, then you will void the warranty they generally provide for you.

They say the document I provided is only on other cars and only triggers after 15 minutes. That my truck doesn't need double isolation. They think I have a bad door switch. They want to hook it up to the dome light and I do not. I think they cut corners and don't 100% trust them anymore.

I know where the BCM is however, The wires they tapped into dead end at the cluster and it has me confused as to what direction they run. I'll probably abandon those wires and pull from the kick panels, then I know for sure what way the wires run. Not to mention soldering diodes in the tight space doesn't sound fun. I enjoy mobile electronics and would like to become a home based dealer at some point. I already have 4 vehicles I am installing systems in

I wouls also recommend the dome light connection on the underside dash. this will work all the time regardless of the dome light switch

It will still get a signal even with the dome light override set to off?

Test it and find out. Worst case grab the signal before the override switch. If your cluster has a door open warning, you can find the wire at the cluster as well

True true, I think that each wire goes to the cluster for door ajar and they is what they are tapped into right now.
