Drive a relay with the output

86 - constant fused +12v
85 - (-) trigger from alarm
30 - output to whatever you are trying to activate
87 - either constant fused +12v or ground depending on what you want the output to be.

I got a window module sitting around that ive been wanting to install. It requires 500mA ground when armed, this means that I would do..

86 - constant fused +12v

85 - 200mA trigger from alarm

30 - 500mA wire to window module

87 - ?????

If you have a window module all you have to do is hook up the window module's trigger wire to the alarms's AUX output wire. Hook up the power and the ground and the appropriate wires for up or down.

there is the problem. My alarm doesn't have any 500mA outputs. They are all 200mA. Its a stupid CompuSTAR from like 3 years ago. The instructions from that told me specifically that all outputs are 200mA.

update: Figured it out.

86 = +12v constant

85 = 200mA trigger from alarm

30 = 500mA input of window module

87 = ground.

ok.. kinda worked.. when i try and use the module, it rolls the windows up a little bit then stops. then if I push the button again, it rolls it up again and then stops. I think im not getting a constant (-)500mA ground. Any help please/.

Does the unit allow you to program the AUX channel from pulsed to constant ?

the problem you have is that it only operates for 1 sec, you need a continuous extension or use the arming output.  my window relay actually worked even though the output isn't 500ma.

what about the current drain of the relay when armed for long periods...???

the module should cut it after the windows are all the way up, but that depends on the module.  My module stop operating once the windows are all up.  you should check to see it yours stop, if not then find an extension that is continuous.
