Hi all...

I recently bought an older suburban that has one of these audiovox alarms installed under the dash HOWEVER I didn't receive any "clickers" with it....

Anybody know which remote I should try to find?

Barring that is the new prestige wiring the same as the old prestige wiring?
Could I just buy a new alarm (looking at the APS787c) and unplug the brain from the old one and plug the new one in?

Thanks in advance....
Scott

Scott-

Yes, according to Audiovox's website, the APS785 used the Prestige APS2K4S51 Transmitter. You can look under the Prestige replacement transmitters and support areas of the website for the details.

And Yes, the main harnesses for the APS785 will fit the APS787C. This includes the Ignition Harness, the 18 position main harness, the 4 pin auxillary harness, door lock harness and the shock sensor. The APS787C has a different antenna/LED/Switch combination that you would need to install, which is fairly easy, and the older toggle control switch is no longer needed. You should note the programming of the existing unit's settings before removal.

In my experience, the APS787C has better range than the previous versions of the APS78x family, but Audiovox never clearly documented this.

Note that the latest (2015 Model), the APS787E, however has changed the design and the harnesses, so they are no longer plug compatible with previous versions.

If it was my vehicle, I would replace the older unit with the APS787C. Program the unit, then enjoy more range and more features.
