is it possible to damage a starter, or a starter cylinoid by making a misstake putting in remote start.

I installed a cs2011rs in a 2001 honda civic.  At first the car kept trying to start but would not stay running.

I first believed that the transponder bypass was not working until I saw the green indicator light go out .  Then I thought their was a problem with the start disable relay but that wasn't it ethier.  eventually I ran a tach wire because the installation instructions stated that the smart tachless operation doesn't alway work especially with deep cycle batteries inplace (I put a optima yellow top in the day before).  With the tach wire installed the remote starter worked fine but I had already disonnected the started disable relay.  I reconnected the relay and finished hideing all wires.  When that was done the car would start at all.  Not even with the key.  I called a friend that know his way around an engine to try and help me start this car.  He just touch the starter cylinoid and the car started.  We turned it off and started it again.  we pulled the fuses on the alarm and he went home.  This morning he called me and said his car wouldn't start again.  He had it tolled to our locall honda dealership and the fixed the problem.  The receipt said car would not start do to loose wire at starter cylinoid.  To fix it they removed cylinoid and reinstalled it.  They are not covering it under warranty.  Receipt says loose wire is do to aftermarket installation.  Thankfully it only cost 50 bucks eventhough I don't see how I could of loosened a wire connected to the starter cylinoid.  I tapped all the wires in the ignition harness.  Also the car wouldn't start one time after I put in his head-unit before I did the alarm.  That time the car only wouldn't start for a minute though.  I'd rather pay 50 bucks then replace a starter.  Not exactly an Xclusive Installatin this time.

Things seem to happen to installers at the worst possible times. Things work 99.9 % of the time and then that .1 % that is doesn't, your there installing an alarm or remtoe starter and it's automatically " the installers fault ". A loose connection at the starter solenoid seems to be a factory defect to me, but who's to argue with the Dealerships posted_image they know best posted_image.
