I installed a Designtech first defense alarm, #29646, into a 2001 Intrepid R/T. Everything seems to be working, but there are problems with arming and false alarms. I have not figured out the variable, but it takes a few tries to get it armed properly. Most times, the LED flashes rapidly, without fully arming. When it does arm, about fifteen seconds later, it will begin going off. The only thing I can figure is the dome lights, which take a considerable time to go off after the doors are closed. Thanks in advance for any help, guys.

Try disconnecting the door trigger wire from the alarm and see if this problem persists. This will eliminate the door trigger being the problem if it falses again after you remove the trigger wire from the alarm.
