I'm struggling on a Kia Forte 2014 with a regular key and as far as I can tell NO immobilizer.

I saw the 1300 tech tip and I searched this forum and saw a write up regarding the wiring and how the factory alarm disable and the lock sense wire needs to be wired with a relay to open on lock.

I talk to an installer who told me to just wire it up to arm and disarm and it should work and yet another who said to go to the door directly. Nothing.

The MAIN ISSUE I'm having is that the factory lock/unlock switch is not functioning unless the acc/ignition is on. Doesn't do anything with the key out..so I suspect there is a fault with the vehicle somewhere. Please please help..Boss is down my throat

How do you have the system wired currently ? Did you put all wiring back to factory to see if the locks go back to normal ?   If you check the pictorial section there is a quote up on this car. I've done a bunch of these cars there usually fairly easy

You may need to pulse 3 wires for unlock. They are

yellow/black power unlock dash fuse box, wht 32 pin plug (D), pin 3

Pink key in door cylinder unlock/disarm dash fuse box, white 32 pin plug (D), pin 17

brown lock detection wire dash fuse box, white 32 pin plug (D), pin 8

3 diodes off your disarm wire to those 3 wires will work everytime. Just pulse the power lock wire for locking.

Those 3 diodes are easier than the relay for future reference... works on every Hyundai/kia
