Hello Everyone,

I'm helping my father out and avital 4103XL since my truck did not come with a factory alarm system and no remote just the ignition key. This is what we have so far:

Main Harness 9pin connector

1. Light Green black (-) 200mA Factory Alarm Disarm: N/A

2. GREEN / WHITE (-) 200mA Factory Alarm Rearm: N/A

3. Yellow (+) Ignition (To Alarm): Pink/White or Pink/Tan (+) located on the immobilizer harness

4. WHITE/ Blue (-) Activation Input: Remote Start Activation: Not Sure

5. Orange (-)500mA ground when locked/Anti-Grind Output:Not Sure

6. Brown (-) 200mA Horn Output: DK. GREEN/ Purple (-)

7. RED / White (-) 200mA Trunk release: N/A

8. Black Ground: Grounding this wiring to metal

9. White (+/-) Light Flash Output: White Lt. Green (+) Left and WHITE/ Tan (+) Right/w relays!! or use the outputs from the relays!!



Door Lock, 3-pin connector

1. Blue (-) Unlock: PURPLE / Dark Green in Drivers Kick Panel

2. Empty

3. Green (-) Lock: PURPLE / Dark Green in Drivers Kick Panel



Remote Start, 6-pin connector (Don't understand very well)

1. Red (+) 30A High Current 12V input: Red (+) 12V constant power

2. Pink/White Output to Second Ignition/Accessory Circuit: Not Sure

3. Red (+) 30A High Current 12V input: Red (+) 12V constant Power (Another power wire)

4. Orange (+) Output to Accessory Circuit: Not sure

5. Purple Output to Starter Circuit: Not sure

6. Pink Output to primary ignition Circuit: Not Sure



Satellite harness, 4-pin connector Note: (Don't think I have to use this) Most vehicles don't really use this harness

1. Blue (-) 200mA Status Output: Small amount of negative current when the remote start is active used for hard wiring a bypass kit. Not using a remote start data bus, key bypass and plugging it into the module, you will use this.

2. Orange (-) 200mA Accessory Output: This is used for accessory, function used for defrost or heat, except this will do it on a negative output. Will require a relay to do this function.

3. Purple (-) 200mA Starter Output: Starter relay turn on. It will do the same thing as the heavy gauge relay start output for the igition harness except it will reverse the polarity with a relay.

4. Pink (-) 200mA Ignition Output: If your car has a 3rd igition output you will use this in conjuction with a relay to power on the 3rd igition. If you have another function you wanted to use with the remote starter, you would use this to do the job with a relay.


Remote Start harness, 5-pin connector

1. BLACK/ White (-) Neutral Safety switch input: (Don't know where the safety switch is located or what wire to use)

2. Violent/white Tachometer input wire: Any wire not BROWN / White(AC) Note: Any fuel injector

3. Brown (+) Brake Shutdown input wire: White (+)

4. Gray (-) Hood pin switch shutdown wire: Not used

5. Blue/White (-) 200mA 2nd Status/rear defogger: Not used


If anyone has any kind of experience or advice it would be greatly appreciated, Thank you.

You would probably be better off using a flash module like the Idatalink CA flash module with your remote starter . Or you can get a stand alone plug and play remote starter module from Idatalink also that can start your truck with 3 press of the lock button on the factory remote . Go to Idatalink or DEI's website (Xpresskit) to see your options .

I already have a Dball2 XpressKit. Can I use that instead of the remote start 6 pin connector?

If im not mistaken you can use the dball2 as a stand alone remote starter or with the Avital 4103 make sure its flashed with the correct firmware .

Been a while, yes I have already flashed the Dball2 and is programmed to work with the vehicle. The only problem I'm having is remote starting the truck. I'm still having problems understanding the heavy gauge 6pin harness (remote 6pin harness)

Remote Start, 6-pin connector

Judging from what I'm seeing for the orange wire (4) the accessory circuit must be the (Ignition Harness from vehicle) DK. Blue/Pink

Next the Pink output to primary ignition circuit must be rather the (main harness from vehicle) Yellow/gray wire.

I still can't figure out what wire to put the purple output to starter circuit connects to.

I tried connecting the heavy gauge harness 6pin like this:

1. Red (+) 30A High Current 12V input: Red (+) 12V constant power

2. Pink/White Output to Second Ignition/Accessory Circuit: N/A

3. Red (+) 30A High Current 12V input: Red (+) 12V constant Power (Another power wire)

4. Orange (+) Output to Accessory Circuit: Dk. Blue/Pink wire

5. Purple Output to Starter Circuit: pink/white wire

6. Pink Output to primary ignition Circuit: yellow/gray (for starter immobilizer only)

When I start the vehicle up and remove the key from the ignition it's like in a pit stop mode. Except the vehicle doesn't shut off unless I remove the pink wire from the primary ignition circuit. Not even stepping on the brake shuts the vehicle off and ends up throwing a code to the injector I'm tapping into for the tach wire (to alarm: Violet/white wire). I have to end up clearing the code with a code reader. I'm also using a CHTHD1 harness plug and play T harness with the dball2 immobilizer. I manage to get the dball2 to work as far as wiring up the door trigger and parking light wires.

From the main harness 9pin connector: I'm still not able to understand (orange wire from Avital 4103XL) what the Ground when locked/anti-grind output is or the activation input wire is (WHITE/ blue from avital 4103XL).
