Subject: 5904v, number of sensor ports?

I'm looking everywhere but can seem to find the answer. I had a 5904v installed. I paid extra to have the proximity sensor installed as well as the dual zone shock that comes with it. Got the car back yesterday and decided to play with it a bit. Banged the outside a bit and Nothing!
Alarm didn't go off. Contacted the installer and he said they only have one sensor port and if he put that in too then it would show as the same on the remote.
I had originally asked for the 5906v but he told me there was no difference. Bottom line is I thought I could arm the car with just the shock when I'm parked where there may be people walking by constantly which would a activate the proximity sensor. Can anyone tell me does the 5904v have only 1 sensor port and how many does the 5906v have.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated as I've overspent to get a decent alarm that I'd be happy with but so far I'm far from impressed.

Thanks in advance

I believe there are two sensor ports (like any of the recent Viper alarms) and the alarm should have come with an external shock sensor that goes into sensor 1 port.

Thanks very much for the reply. So should the 5904v and the 5906v have two ports??
I just want to be sure what I'm talking about when I go back to him.

Thanks

Yes, it has two ports.

Sensor 1
Sensor 2

You have to wait at least 20 seconds "settle" time for the sensors to activate after arming.
Two ports but technically the number is unlimited, using trunk and hood triggers and the GWA wire with external 12V+ sources.
Another point is that after about 36 hrs. The prox will increase its sensitivity, many installers initially set the sensitivity below useful on installation.

Amateurs assume, don't test and have problems; pros test first. I am not a free install service.
Read the installation manual, do a search here or online for your vehicle wiring before posting.
