I have a 2001 and a 2000 I30 infiniti with 3.0 V6"s. I pulled the Remote Start Pursuit 9775T out of the 2000 and installed it on the 2001. My issue is finding the tach wire. Although I have located what is supposed to be the right wire (same color code, same approx. ecm location) I don't see enough AC voltage with my DVM on it. The unit is not sensing that wire during tach programming. The wire is at White w Green Tracer on both vehicles at the ECM plug. The unit worked fine in the 2000. Does anyone know or have a different target wire at the ECM. I tried reading one of the coils at the engine and I got only 10 -20 millivolts there also. It has been my experience that I will usually get 1-4 volts, on idle to light throttle position. I also could not find the horn trigger wire at the column either. Would appreciate any help. I have a Directed Electronics and an Omega wiring guide sheet that I used to find everything else. Thanks.

OBD pin 9 for tach alternatively look for a black junction box in the engine bay, drive side by strut. It's the igniter wire routing, open it and you might find one wire in a loop, join after testing.
I've always found OEM in Toyotas in the steering column loom, good old Snap-On bulb tester is perfect for finding it.
Horn is GREEN / WHITE where I said.

I Don't know why I didn't think of the OBD for the tach. I have the alarm manuals, wiresheets for target wires (as stated in my post), test equipment. Except for this forum, I used all of them before posting. I'm not a rookie, I just haven't done installs since 1990. I'm not offended though, this is the first time I have had to ask for anything. I do appreciate your leads for the tach wire. Have a great day.

No problems, listen I'm semi-retired now, been out of day to day work for 10 months, the basic knowledge is still there but it takes me twice as long to think it through.

I hear ya. Same for me. At 52, Only doin my own vehicles. Still have those issues, but I'll figure it out.
