I have a 5901 installed in my Super Duty...I have the turbo timer activated via the bit writer but I cannot find the way to activate it by remote. I would rather remote activation then adding a momentary switch.

Thanks in advance.

Use another aux set to timed.

Amateurs assume, don't test and have problems; pros test first. I am not a free install service.
Read the installation manual, do a search here or online for your vehicle wiring before posting.

To activate Turbo Timer Mode with an automatic transmission:
1.
Make sure the Turbo timer feature is turned on in the features
grid.
2.
Open the vehicle door.
3.
While the vehicle is running; press the F button twice
by the RS button.
4.
The parking lights flash once and the remote plays the remote start
activation tone confirming that the remote start is activated (the one
way remote only flashes the parking lights).
5.
Turn off the ignition (car stays running).
6.
Exit the vehicle and arm the system.
7.
At this point the vehicle stays running for the programmed run-
time

I use the turbo timer frequently on my 7.3 Super Duty after a long interstate run, when I stop for fuel. I leave it running on the turbo timer and go in to prepay my fuel. It usually shuts down as I approach it upon my return. Probably much to the relief of other patrons on the fuel island. 7.3's are pretty obnoxious at idle because of the racket they make. I of course love the racket. Sounds like "reliability" to me. But I'd trade for a 6.7. You interested? GRIN.

I don't think ypou can use the button or hard wire a turbo timer input. You can use the button to enter the RS run mode, but if you have that set for a longer run time (I have mine set for 1 hour) that's too long for turbo-timer. My turbo timer is set for 3 minutes.

Thanks for the reply,

Someone else on another forum sent me the instructions on activating it with the Viper 2way remote...

1. Open door
2. Hit "F" twice
3. Hit rs button

Get out and arm it, it then runs the 3 minutes I programmed it for with the bit writer.

Thanks again....as for the trade for my 6.7...... Sorry, not an option as I love this truck! Best truck (Diesel) I've owned to date. My 7.3 was nice, but no where near the 6.7 in regards to brute strength...

Shoot. I up-dated my post with an edit that include a copy past from the owners guide.

For some reason the font is billboard size. I'M VERY SORRY FOR THIS. But now that it is not the last post in the thread I can't fix it  because my "copper" status doesn't allow editing if I am not the last post in the thread.

Cliff Note version:

open the door

push F twice then RS

turn off the key

close the door and arm system

I too like the 6.7 for it's strength and quietness. My 7.3 is old and slow, but I'll take the cost of maintaince for ii over the costs for the 6.7 any time. And I don't need the "pee" in the DEF tank.

6.7's don't cost anymore to maintain then my 7.3 did..... 13 qts of Rotella and a filter every 5k..... Not much difference then my 7.3 was following the same maintenance schedule... It would actually be cheaper if I followed the oil life monitor on my truck as it bases oil changes on how the truck has been used.... Ford recommends 10k on oil changes for the 6.7 but I will never run that long. 5k is my max.

In regards to the urea. (I no longer need it, but If I still used it)
It only uses about 2 gallons every oil change....

Just about everyone is pulling that crap off and running 5" from the d/p back.... It really really wakes the 6.7 up once that is gone and adds on average 150hp and 200fp of tq on the dyno.

Like I said, although I enjoyed my 7.3 when I had it...the 6.7 is such a step up that I would never go back.
