Hello everyone. I recently purchased a new in box compustar 6102as. I installed this in my 2000 jeep Cherokee. All was well and everything worked great. Until the next morning. I tried to remote start it and got what some other users have had where it doesn't start but does with the key. Works wonderful if the vehicle hasn't sat over night. I used to install these as a profession so I was familiar with needing to grab a tach wire and program. I went to an injector and programmed it no issues and then went into the option menu and set it for tach sensing. But I'm still having the problem. It only cranks for .8 seconds, then tries two more times. I've re programmed thebtach and the option menus butbit still acts as if there is no tach connected. I've also set tach on a morning cold start to to avail. I'm stumped! Works great throughout the day, just not when its cold. Have I missed something? Please help! Thanks in advance

Have everything hooked up. Only thing I didn't hook up was trunk and other extras but everything else is good to go. Tested as well as confirmed with the info on this site and directtechs

Also I should add that I've tested to see how it cranks if the vehcile won't start. I've unhooked the coils/plugs, and tried it, but it still only cranks for .8 secinds. It's like the tach sense is getting bad readings from the injector, I've also tried the wire off the pcm, and its the same thing. They program fine but never cranks longer then .8

Silly question but very common here in the UK. Is it gasoline or diesel?

On DEI product going to a diesel injector often doesn't work, is there a Comp equivalent to virtual tach?

There is virtual tach, however I'd like to use tach for the fact of being in Minnesota and my vehicle will need to crank longer. It almost seems as if its stuck in virtual tach. Because the .8 crank time is what virtual tach starts at.

Can you increase the crank time?

I can go up to 1.4 seconds. But I'd like to not do that for the times that it starts right away.

I think I may have gotten it now, I ran it to my coil again, and then set the rpms where they are for cold start. Now if it disconnect the coils it will crank for quite some time, mimicking the cold start. I'll keep you posted. Thank you for the replies.

I was going to suggest a 1 second crank time but good luck anyway.
