Hello all,

I have a 1999 Acura 3.5RL with a python 871xp installed using the TBXKEY immobilizer bypass. Since i started using this, remote start would only work occasionally, and lately not at all.

I only have 1 key as a bought the car used. I had a locksmith cut and clone me some spare keys.

Ive decided to replace the TBXKEY with another immobilizer.
Which immobilizers do you recommend?

I am a trained mechanic with some experience diagnosing electricals, and have installed many car stereo systems before so i might attempt to install myself (depending on if the module needs to be programed or flashed and time permitting, considering i work full time).

all replies are appreciated. Thanks in advance!

+1  with metz35.  I like iDatalink products.  Easy to program and very reliable.

The ADS TB requires a specific firmware load.  If you go with that bypass module, make sure the seller will flash it
with the correct firmware that you need / request.  Here is a link to the ADS TB with TB-PR firmware install guide :

Another option is a PKALL or Key-OverRide-All.  They come from the factory with the correct firmware and are ready to
go right out of the box.  The price is similar to the ADS TB.  Here is a link to the Key-OverRide-All install guide :

This will definitely solve your KeyInBox cold start issues.   That's one of the big advantages of the data style bypass modules, they work great at any temperature.
