Subject: Viper Alarm Stopped Working After Dead Car Battery

I installed a Viper 5706V with DBALL2 bypass inside my 2012 Toyota Tundra 6 months ago and everything worked great. All connections were soldered w/heat shrink tubing. Yesterday my car battery died. I jump started it and now the alarm and remote start won't work. The antenna/transmitter light won't turn on and the led's on the alarm brain and bypass are not lit up. The remote lock/unlock functions do not work and when I try to remote start w/2way fob it sends signal but does not return any error code or anything. I checked all fuses and they are fine. I also checked voltage on each of the fuse holders and they are all receiving 12v. Do I need to reprogram the bypass or something similar? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It may also be helpful to know that I wired in d2d config. Thanks again.

You need to re-pair the DB to the vehicle.

Thanks for the reply Howie. I tried repairing the bypass by unplugging the 4 pin d2d harness then holding the button in while reconnecting it. The LED turns solid red. I then went to reprogramming by pressing the unlock button on door panel. The LED starts flashing orange quickly as suspected. I then inserted key in to ignition and LED turned solid orange as suspected (key is in learning mode). I then turned ignition on and LED started flashing green quickly as suspected. Then I was suppose to wait for the LED to start flashing orange slowly which said it could take up to 20 seconds. This never happens and the LED turns off. I've tried multiple times with same outcome. I tried continuing to next step of inserting and removing keyto wait for green to flash slowly and this never happens. LED just remains off. Any ideas of what isn't allowing it to advance to next step in programming?

NOTE: In the step following turning the ignition on and having LED flash green quickly I did REMOVE key to wait for orange to flash slowly as instructed in manual.

Scratches head? It might take a few attempts!

I've tried reprogramming approximately 5 more times with similar results. Every time it fails. Once key is in learning mode inidicated by LED turning solid orange. I put key in and turn to on position and led flashes quickly as suspected. Once I turn key to off position and remove the LED remains flashing green for a second or 2 then it turns solid green for about 2 seconds and then turns off and stays off. It is suppose to flash orange slowly to indicate that it's waiting for IGN ON/OFF but doesn't. The last step it gets to is flashing green quickly which indicates vehicle information successfully received. Do you know of any other things I can check to see why I am unable to advance to next step in programming? Really appreciate the help, I'm at a loss on what to check next. Could I maybe need to do something to the viper brain?

I'm sorry, the only other thing would be to get it re-flashed.

A couple of things, a note in step 3 of the DBALL instructions.

IF LED turns solid green then off (programming has already been done),there was a DBALL already programmed into vehicle.

The lock/unlock wires are not controlled through the DBALL but directly from the Viper unit.(Installation Type 2) Your Viper remote/brain should control those functions, not the DBALL.

Try unplugging the 6 pin harness from the Viper brain for a couple of minuets, then plug it back in to see if the Viper brain resets.
Then try your lock/unlock to see if the Viper responds.
Or try entering one of the menus, again to see if the Viper unit is responding with horn honks or siren chirps, indicating a selected menu. Assuming the horn or siren were connected.

When all else fails, Read the Instructions

Thank you both for your help. I unplugged main 10pin harness on brain and let sit awhile then replugged back in. I then re-paired the lcd remote and now everything is back up and working. Really appreciate the help guys!
