I'm an old Dealer Tech, so no problems with installs.. I solder everything .. NOW I just put in a Compustar CS-800 .. everything works and sometimes the truck remote starts great. most of the time not..it takes 2 or even 3 times and sometimes won't remote start.
These trucks are notorious for not starting if you let off the key too soon. They will start then die out if you even let off the key a fraction of a second too soon..?? DUNNO WHY I came from a ford dealership lol
It's my dam truck too hhaha. every once in a while I let off the key and it starts VRRUMPH then dies.
Well the compustar is doin it to.
Should I mess with crank time programming or simply run a wire and set it for tach sensing. it is stock TACHLESS NOW..?$@^?&
on TACH sensing will it crank till it senses it's running??
any thoughts will be greatly appreciated.

Somewhere I read that if you do a tach learn (start, foot on brake, hold start button 2.5 sec and of course WITH a tach wire connected) the brain will switch itself to TACH sensing.. is this true?
if not then I sure gotta figure out these dam insructions for programming with the remote WHEW

I would run in Tach Mode. Too many issues with Tachless or Virtual Tach for me, especially with seasonal temperature changes and long cranking Toyota engines. As for programming, I have an OP-500 programmer so it is very easy to do. There are a couple of places you can get the Tach signal from, depending on the engine. You might have to play around with the Tach Learn process, trying a warm engine idle or adding some RPM's to get a consistent remote start.

Thanks for the reply. I'm gonna hook it to the injector pulse and see what happens.
I think I got the remote programming figured out.. the book is not too friendly in that respect !! but I'll give it a shot. I understand what you mean about giving it some rpms in learning.. I'll see what happens first !
