My brother has a valet 561t on his Toyota fj.. However when the RS is activated he can't unlock the car via the remote. He needs to use the key to unlock the door and once the door is opened the remote start shuts down. He bought the car with the 561t already installed. Any idea what I should be checking for prior to tearing into his dash? Is it just a programming issue, if so how do I program it?

Thx

There should be a blue wire on a 4 pin plug, GWR AKA status out put. If unused connect to the key sense wire adjacent to the ignition switch. This is a wire often BLACK / YELLOW (give me the year I can be more precise) which goes from open circuit to ground when the ignition key is inserted.
If this is already used for say a factory immobiliser by-pass then split via diodes (2 X 1N4004). Bands towards the 561t.

GREEN/ YELLOW, body ECU on R edge of dash fuse box, top white 26 pin plug, pin 14.
And yes year is extremely important, colours and positions may change.
