Car: 2007 Acura MDX
Module: 4x10
RF Kit: 9211V

I have the 4x10 programmed to use both the OEM remote fob as well as the 9211V. Using the OEM key fob, 3x Lock functioned normally. The 4x10 picked up the signal and started right up.

Since the OEM key fob is short on range, I'm adding the 9211v.
Wired up, and attempted to program as detailed:

1) Door open
2) Turn key to ON position (II position on the Acura)
3) Press & release valet button 1x
4) Press & hold valet button until LED blinks (continue to hold)
5) Press button on the 7211v transmitter 1x
6) Release valet button
7) Turn key to off

After, I tried to use the transmitter and being a 2 way, the light goes red and it gives me a failure tone. I repeated the programming with the 2nd remote and the results are the same.

After repeating it several times, I'm beginning to feel stupid since it seems so simple. But I have no idea what to do now. Does anyone know what I might be doing wrong?

Did you put the remote in the pairing mode?

I did not.. There wasn't anything in the manual for it. I'll have to see if I can find instructions on putting the 1 button transmitter into pairing mode.

So it seems the multi button remotes can enter program mode with the f button. But I can't find anything for a 1-button remote. Does anyone know how to enter programming on a 1-button?

I believe if you follow the pairing instructions for the Viper 5301 Owners manual, downloadable from this site, on page 16 or 17 are the instructions for getting the Two Way remotes into the pairing mode.
Follow those steps for the One Way.

You'll only have the Transmit LED at the top to work with

I've only installed one of those kits before and I don't remember for sure, but I believe that will do it.

Oh yea, I found that one. The problem is that the remote on the 5301 is a 5 button remote with the f (function) button to enter pairing mode. The 7211v is a single button remote, with no function button.

So I'm not sure how to enter it into pairing mode. The manual doesn't say anything further than enter programming mode on the 4x10 itself.

My apologies. I didn't see you are using a One Button setup.
Not familiar with those. I did find this online from the Viper 9211 Owners manual. Maybe it can help

Remote Pairing
1. Turn key to the ON position
2. Within 10 seconds, press and release Valet button one time.
3. Within 10 seconds, press and hold the Valet button. The LED
on the module flashes one time and the horn honks (if connected)
to confirm entry into remote programming. Do not
release the Valet button.
4. Press the button on the remote control. The horn honks to
confirm the remote has been programmed.
5. Release the Valet button.
6. Turn the key to the Off position. The horn sounds one long
honk to confirm that remote programming has been exited.
