Hello all, I am attempting to install and get working the remote start with security system into a 2009 silverado for a customer. i have the evo-all from fortin and are used to using the more known systems that incorporate data link into the remote start. my understanding is that the fortin should control everything over the network. but i cannot get the remote starter to control anything. if i bypass the remote start i can get the evo all to start the truck with the 3x on the factory key fob. so im assuming that the fortin is connected right to the truck. but my customer would like this unit to be a functioning alarm system. any assistance is greatly appreciated.

here is the link to the manual https://www.the12volt.com/installbay/downloads.asp?srch=all&term=7071

if that is what you are using i would recccomend using install type b with that unit and hardwire everything to the fortin unit.

make sure tach is learned on the auto start and everything should work as it should.

I'm unable to view the link you have posted. But I did hard wire everything from the remote start to the fortin. Then tried to operate the remote and nothing happens it's like the fortin is not on the network. Unless the install link you have provided is saying to hard wire all wires to the truck from the remote start and just use the Evo all as a stand alone bypass??

no its saying to hardwire it straight to the fortin and from there the fortin should do everything throught the t harness. dont use the data cable. also make sure power and ground is hooked up to a good supply for the auto start its self.

I will start back at square one tomorrow I guess. That is how I have it hooked up now and the remote start system clicks and has the pulses leave the module but the fortin doesn't do anything with it. Am I missing a setting when I used the decryptor software perhaps. Thanks for the help so far.

If the EVO is working then it is an issue with the remote start not doing what it needs to do.
The EVO may not work in data mode to the remote start so you will need to connect the EVO to the remote start in wire to wire mode or hardwired mode(those are the same thing).

If this link isn't active copy and past it.
When you look at the guide you will see many wires with doted lines coming from Plug A. These will all need to be connected to the remote start since they are not connected via the data connection.

Okay. so i retraced everything and it all looks like its hooked up right. the fortin evo all when i go into start mode red and yellow light are on solid and the blue light flashes and the vehicle will not crank. also another thing i noticed is that the remote start will not provide a ground when i hit the lock and unlock button with a digital test light. so i do know the fortin is hooked up right im beginning to think that the remote start module is defective.

okay so today come in first thing. try remote start nothing. try door locks and they are operational. now when i go into remote start mode. red and yellow are on the the evo-all and the blue flashes and theft deterrent light comes on and no crank. enable stand alone remote starting with factory key fob. same warning comes on the dash but truck starts and runs fine. im wondering if this has something to do with the accessory wire not dropping voltage to tell it to crank?? or should the evo all control that?
