I am installing a backup kits on a 2015 Grand Cherokee, got it all hookup it come on for about 10 sec then turn off and flicker on and off am I suppose to hook the video monitor red wire to the front reverse wire instead of 12v accessory, the instruction said 12v accessory? After watching some youtube on how to install they hook there up to the front reverse wire. Appreciate some help here.

What is the kit? What wires are coming off the monitor and their labels?

I assume you wired the camera ok, as you only mention the monitor.

Accessory is fine for power but there is probably a trigger wire too, which is what would connect to the reverse lights.

the kit is Audiovox model ACA800 License plate rearview camera and color video screen Ibeam model TE-50VS. I wire the camera to the rear reverse wire and ground it to the tailgate. and the monitor had a red and black wire the red wire I connect to a wire that come on with the ignition, and ground the black wire. should the red wire be connected to the front reverse wire running thru the rocker panel to the rear to power the monitor?

Accessory should be fine.

What video input did you connect the camera to?

Where did you connect the monitor ground to?

You said you grounded the camera to the tailgate. How?

When you say it flickers on and off, is that the monitor that flickers or just the video signal?

there are 2 cable yellow AV1 and white AV2 I had try both. I grounded the wire to the front door jam next to the dash side scrape the paint to bare metal to screw ground wire to it. Same for the camera I scrape the paint off to bare metal and screw the ground to it. the signal flicker on and off.

Ok. So the monitor works fine then.

Are there any lights on your tailgate? Can you ground the camera to the ground of one of the lights? Otherwise you're relying on the metal connection through a hinge pin which may not be the best.

Also on the camera cable line there were 2 loop wire a blue and a green, audiovox tech told me to cut the blue loop wire if not using a mirror, could that be the cause of the video signal coming on and off?

Did you try changing the ground?

Cutting blue wire changes the image to normal, not reversed.

Green should get rid of parking lines.

Neither should cause a flickering problem.

86 - +reverse light
85 - ground
87 - +12vdc fused
30 - +your camera

Diode across 86 + 85 band toward 86.

I don't know where you will find a +12v source at the back though.
