Hi all. Long time working on cars but first time posting here. I have recently installed a viper 4105v in a 2002 Toyota Sequoia. The remote starter works fine all day long but when it is allowed to sit for a day and I go to start in the cold morning hours when temperatures are below freezing it hangs up and never stops sending a cranking signal. I have connected the tach wire and taught it the tach signal. Same problem. I turned engine monitoring off and set crank time to 1.8 seconds. Fine when warm, (overcranks slightly) perfect when cool, but when temps drop below freezing same problem. I charged the battery overnight, disconnected and went to remote start when freezing, same problem. The battery voltage never drops below 10v when cranking. Halfway through my drive to work I pull over and it works fine. All my connections are soldered to the harness right by the ignition switch. I cut the crank signal wire, installed spades for test purposes and disconnected it while the endless crank was occouring and sure enough the module never stops sending the signal. I thought that the current draw of the starter solenoid was too much for the conductors, and the available voltage at the module was dropping to the point that it glitched. I ran the crank output to trigger a relay, the main feed straight from the battery with a 10 gauge wire 30 amp fuse. Same problem. I am thinking several things for next steps. 1) brand new battery 2) feed power to the remote start on a separate conductor and or use ignition outputs to trigger relays instead of using the remote start. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
