I'm trying to help a customer install automatic headlights into a base model 2016 Nissan Leaf (car has regular halogen headlights with no automatic features).

The DEI 545T looks like is designed for cars without a BCM (body control module) or IPDM (intelligent power distribution module)

The Leaf OEM headlights and parking lights have their relays built into the IPDM. Would it be ok to hook the 545T output directly to the headlight / parking light wires downstream from the IPDM?   Should I use diodes to prevent "backfeeding" into the IPDM?

If anyone has experience hooking up 545T on a BCM/IPDM type car please advise.
