Hey 12-volters,
I'm installing a Viper 5706v in a 2002 Ford Excursion...just looking for a sanity check on the connections in the
Wire Connection Template 02 Excursion AT Diesel Excel file. Any suggestions/corrections appreciated.
Thanks!
I thought for sure there would be someone here who was familiar with this install. Does anyone know another resource for me to get am answer?
Sorry, was in the Bahamas last week....
Looks pretty good! A few corrections :
MH-4 is not used. Set Viper internal Parking Light jumper fuse to (+).
ASTH-2 Relay not needed. Straight connection.
ASTH-16 Relay not needed. Straight connection.
♦ Remote Start, 10-pin heavy gauge connector Number of Connections: 9
RS-1 NC No Connection
RS-2 RED / BLACK (+) FUSED 12V ACCESSORY/STARTER INPUT VH-5
RS-3 PINK/BLACK (+) FLEX RELAY INPUT 87a NOT USED
RS-4 PINK/WHITE (+) IGNITION 2 / FLEX RELAY OUTPUT VH-2
RS-5 RED (+) FUSED 12V IGNITION 1 INPUT VH-6
RS-6 GREEN (+) STARTER INPUT (KEY SIDE OF THE STARTER KILL) VH-8 (#87a)
RS-7 VIOLET (+) STARTER OUTPUT (CAR SIDE OF THE STARTER KILL) VH-8 (#30)
RS-8 ORANGE (+) ACCESSORY OUTPUT VH-1
RS-9 RED / WHITE (+) FUSED 12V IGNITION 2 / FLEX RELAY INPUT 87 VH-4
RS-10 PINK (+) IGNITION 1 INPUT/OUTPUT VH-7
There are usually several Yellow and Light/GREEN/ Violet +12V constant wires at the ignition switch harness, so split
the Viper load between them.
You need an external relay for ACC3.
Relay Pin 85 to Viper thin Orange (-) 200mA Accessory Output
Relay Pins 86 and 87 to +12V constant
Relay Pin 30 to Excursion ACC3
Program Viper for
Flex Relay = Accessory
Transmission = Auto
Engine Checking = Tach
2nd Status = Defrost ( not sure if pulse or latched )
Program 1100F to Installation Mode = Standard ( 2 blink LED flash pattern ).

Soldering is fun!
There is a strong possibility that the truck has a GEM module and that it will "go to sleep". This will cause the door locks to
not function from the Viper remotes. If this happens, you will need to incorporate DEI Tech Tip 1094. Here is a link to a ZIP
file that has this Tech Tip :

Awesome, thanks a ton Kreg! I really appreciate your help with this one. I thought it probably needed Tech Tip 1094, I was going to test it out first (just in case I get lucky). Thanks again! P.S., I wouldn’t be sorry if I was in the Bahamas!!!

Welcome back!
