I had a backup battery installed with my viper alarm. It does not function properly (it does not trigger the alarm when the battery is disconnected). I am really not too worried about it not triggering the alarm but what does concern me is I have read that the batteries die out really quickly and then in turn drain the vehicles battery. If the backup battery becomes problematic will I be able to just disconnect the battery from the 520t module to bypass it or do I have to remove the entire 520t module and all of the wiring.

Personally I'd disconnect the backup.
