I have the installation guides from both and was referring to this previous post
https://www.the12volt.com/installbay/forum_posts.asp?tid=136122&tpn=1
Its on a 2004.5 Silverado diesel
The previous install was done professionally so I have removed the pins from the harness and reused them since the wires and still in good shape and are soldered. There is a GM-SL (fortina) data interface module already installed and an external relay
that has a couple of diodes connect to it. I have most of it wired up but was wondering is here any thing that need to be wire different than how it was wired in the above linked post? I have the wait to start wire connect to the instrument panel, and the tach wire connected there too, they were already done.
Thank you from from a less than novice wirer.
I should probably add its a crew cab 4wd automatic trans its the fairly loaded model I'm guessing that it had factory keyless entry but it only had the 2 Clarion remotes when I got it has heated seats the recall driver settings and that kind of stuff.
I only have 5 of the wires on the 24 pin harness connected at the moment, they are.
H2/2BACK/WHITE NEUTRAL SAFTY INPUT
H2/16 BROWN BRAKE SHUT DOWN
H2/17 GREY HOOD PIN
H2/20 GREY/BLACK DIESEL WAIT TO START
H2/23 VIOLET/WHITE TACH INPUT.
This is the external relay, it has a diode connected between the 86 and 85 then a diode from 85 to a blue wire on the old alarms ribbon harness the blue wire is cut and also has 2 diodes on it. This is where a lot of my confusion is coming from.
terminal 87 has a wire that runs to the RED / white wire on the steering column harness but there is no terminal on the relay for it.
