Hello everyone, I could use some help. I want to install a somewhat basic alarm in my 4Runner. I am installing it to get extra points in the MECA installation class. My requirements are two sirens, battery backup, door sensors, glass breakage sensor, and keyless entry. I'm looking at the Viper 3305v alarm. I am open to other alarms as well if they will do the same thing and are easier to install.

My vehicle is a 2012 Toyota 4Runner SR5 that came with GPS and satallite radio if that matters for installation. Could anyone give me a wiring diagram for the wires that I will need? I'm hoping this is something I can handle on my own.

Here is a picture just because...

Thank you. For a basic alarm like I mentioned in my original post approximately how many of those wires will I need to tap into?

You keep mentioning a a basic alarm but than you say you want 2 sirens, battery backup and GBS. That is not really basic. You will probably have to add some relays to power 2 sirens and will need to configure some features for the GBS.

Your best bet is to sit down and read the installation instructions and determine what features and connections you will need. Than you can ask specific questions about how to wire the relays or where / how to connect something etc.

Asking general questions or asking someone to map out your entire install won't get a lot of responses.

Hope that helps.

I hate it when someone posts a reply that I don't want to hear that makes sense. I guess in my mind not doing remote start, windows, hatch pop, and things like that make it basic. With that said I completely understand what you are saying and I appreciate you taking the time to explain it to me.

Could you tell me the difference in the power lock wires and the lock motor wires?

Power lock wires are low current trigger wires that control the door locks- they might trigger relays directly, or go to the BCM. The door motor wires are the wires that physically run to the door lock actuators themselves.

power wires is just a negative wire that activates the relay for the lock and unlock motors where as the motor wire activates the motor direct. On that car though i used use your factory arm and factory disarm wires instead always use them for auto starts instead of the lock and unlock wire.

So for the keyless entry do I use the Power Lock / Power Unlock or the Lock Motor / Unlock Motor wires?

Use the power lock and unlock wires or youll be going to all the doors to activate the locks. if you dont use factory arm and disarm for keyless entry make sure to at least hook up the disarm wire.

Looking at the directions I don't see a whire to hook up to the disarm wire. What do I hook that wire up to?

I would hook the keyless entry wires up to them it unlocks and locks the car along with arming and disarming factory alarm.

I finally understand, thank you. I'm a bit slow at times. :)

So, this is my plan I reckon...

Primary Harness
Orange - armed output - To starter kill relay then to starter wire
White - (+)(-) Selectable Light flash - To positive parking light.
White / Blue - Programmable output - not used
BLACK/ white - Domelight Supervision output - not used since factory arm / disarm will handle.
Green - (-) Door Trigger Input Zone 3 - Hood pin.
Blue - (-) Door Trigger Input, Zone 1 - Door Trigger
Violet - (+) Door Trigger Input, Zone 3 - not used?
Black - Chassis ground - To chassis.
Yellow - (+) Switched Ignition Input, Zone 5 - not used?
Brown - (+) Siren Output - to positive siren wire.
Red - (+) Constant Power Input - 12volts
Red / White - (-) 2oo mA Channel 2 Output - not used?

3 pin lock harness
Green - (-) Lock, (+) Unlock Output - either factory arm or disarm
Empty - not used
Blue - (-) Unlock, (+) Lock Output - either factory arm or disarm

So, new questions, will I use the Green or Blue to the Factory Alarm Arm? Also, please feel free to correct me on anything else I have posted above.

For the siren, will I need a relay since I will be using two sirens?

Thank you all for all of the help.

Okay, my biggest question is this one. Which wire do I use to go to the factory arm? The green or the blue?

3 pin lock harness
Green - (-) Lock, (+) Unlock Output - either factory arm or disarm
Empty - not used
Blue - (-) Unlock, (+) Lock Output - either factory arm or disarm
