Hello,
I have recently bought a tried to install an additional siren for the inside of the car. It is not a back up siren, just a simple Positive and Negative type.
Now I have tried to install the siren previously but I was very puzzled at what was happening. I mounted the additional siren in a hidden location and extended the cables to the brains of the alarm, not long at all but i would say an extra 1meter (3ft). I then connected them in parallel to the back up siren already installed, labelled at the brains as "Speaker Output". Red from the secondary siren to "Speaker Output" of the alarm brain, Black from the secondary siren to ground.
What happened when I would test the alarm, the secondary siren would wail but at a very low volume at all times regardless if the alarm was activated or deactivated. I couldn't figure out what was going on, so i made the secondary siren safe and terminated the cables together so it would not short to anything.
I would really like to have it working properly as I spent the money of the secondary siren and It's just sitting inside the car doing nothing.

I have attached the wiring diagram of the alarm to make things easier to understand.

At a guess that Conlog unit uses a speaker rather than a siren without a dedicated POS or NEG siren output you're wasting your time.
Buy the same siren and parallel it with the original.

Amateurs assume, don't test and have problems; pros test first. I am not a free install service.
Read the installation manual, do a search here or online for your vehicle wiring before posting.

The siren that came with the alarm system is of Digital one. So there is no need to "lock" out the siren for what ever reason you want to. I did do a basic continuity test to the digital siren, and I read that the resistance was in the Kilo ohms. This kind of puzzled me as this did not calculate to many or if any amps at all.
Ideally I would like to keep the secondary siren as it has been mounted in a very tight area and it fits just right. If it means i can't connect the both together, I will simply have to make do with the one siren. I'll keep searching around in the mean time for other ways of doing this
