Secondary Siren to Alarm System

Hello,
I have recently bought a tried to install an additional siren for the inside of the car. It is not a back up siren, just a simple Positive and Negative type.
Now I have tried to install the siren previously but I was very puzzled at what was happening. I mounted the additional siren in a hidden location and extended the cables to the brains of the alarm, not long at all but i would say an extra 1meter (3ft). I then connected them in parallel to the back up siren already installed, labelled at the brains as "Speaker Output". Red from the secondary siren to "Speaker Output" of the alarm brain, Black from the secondary siren to ground.
What happened when I would test the alarm, the secondary siren would wail but at a very low volume at all times regardless if the alarm was activated or deactivated. I couldn't figure out what was going on, so i made the secondary siren safe and terminated the cables together so it would not short to anything.
I would really like to have it working properly as I spent the money of the secondary siren and It's just sitting inside the car doing nothing.
I have attached the wiring diagram of the alarm to make things easier to understand.
