Hey everyone,
I'm of course new here but decided to create an account because I'm seeing a lot of knowledgeable users posting helpful information and I'm hoping someone here can help me with my issue.
I have a 2003 Infiniti QX4 (SUV, like the pathfinder) and recently had a IACV (idle air control valve) failure. It ended up burning the amplifier on the motherboard on the ECM (engine control module) and as a result of this, I've replaced both with known working parts.
The issue I'm having is, after trying to start the vehicle, the CEL (check engine light) came up with two new codes. P1610 and P1612. These correlate directly to the NATS (Nissan anti theft system) and indicate an unrecognizable transponder from the keys. I've tried both OEM keys and the valet key. I've tried the ignition cycle with all three keys. I've tried using the FOB. The drivers door lock cylinder.. I've tried everything I could come up with on google and from my own automotive experience.
So, I'm curious to know whether or not I'm able to bypass the NATS. Or learn my transponder without having to pay for an app online claiming to solve all my life problems. Or even worst, towing my vehicle nearly 100 miles away to the dealership to pay them oodles of my hard earned money, to essentially plug in their diagnostic tools and reprogram my keys.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
