For some reason I cannot get my viper 7856V remote to make any sound. I've gone through the programming but it never seems to save the setting. I hold function until the orange light comes on, then press the unlock button so the led stays on signaling the beep should be on. I press function once, then again and hold it until the led goes off. That does not seem to work though. Any thoughts? Bad remote?

Press and HOLD the F button for eight seconds.The transmit LED will turn on.
Press and HOLD the UNLOCK button,The LED will FLASH twice to indicate access to the features menu.
Press/release the unlock button. Unlock LED SOLID= Beeps on
