I would like to connect an (Omega) au94tm to the 4-pin "Optional Sensor Harness" connector on a Viper 3501v alarm system but I can't seem to find:

1) Any information on the actual pin out for the connector. The installation guide talks about wire colors but since I don't have a DEI sensor I'm not sure to which pin each color is connected.

2) A part number for the connector so I can buy a mate connector for the cable to attach the au94tm.

Thanks for your help.

This might help:

I actually clicked this thinking it was an "optical Sensor" and I was going to learn about new alarm technology...

I'm sure you know you could get a DEI 508D and it's already wired for that plug.

Thanks for the information mcnugget. i think I can use it to answer my first issue, the pin out, if I can find something that indicates the connector orientation on the 508D.

I was aware of the 508D but I've seen reviews that indicate the au94tm may fit my needs a little better in that it may adjust to a lower level than the 508D allowing it to be better adjusted for fewer false alarms in my jeep that has no top or doors about 90% of the time. I have no first hand experience that this is true. I've just seen it in a couple post on the web. Of course these same posts seemed to indicate that the AU94TM was a direct replacement for the 508D. The best solution to my problem may be to purchase a 508D. That way I can try it and if it does not work well in my jeep I can switch the connector from the 508D cable to the au94tm cable and try it.

I apologize for the topic of this post I should have indicated that I was asking a question. I would change it but since I just joined the forum I'm not allowed to edit the topic.

I have the 508D, in a regular sedan not a Jeep but I haven't had any issues. The instructions do say that you need to adjust the warn away zone first and then the inner zone.

The biggest problem I've seen with this sensor is that it detects magnitude of movement. A small object moving slowly that's near the sensor might not set it off. A big SUV driving by will however. That's not really a big deal for the warn away function however, it just beeps 3 times. I've never had a false alarm for the instant trigger zone however. Either way, I installed a toggle switch for it to turn it off in busy places.

If the AU94TM is a better sensor or the field can be shrunk more effectively, I'd be interested.
