Hello everyone,
I'm not an installer but I was hoping I could find someone here to help me. I have a 2005 Saturn Ion and a remote start from around the same time. It uses a Viper 488 RF remote. The car rarely gets driven the battery went bad and I bought another. The winter months it and I did not turn the car over and I did not have a charger at the time. Fast forward a few months I put the car on the charger and got the battery up to 90%. I started the car it works fine. I had to reprogram the remotes which went smoothly. The problem is when I try to start the car with the remote the anti-theft feature Triggers on the car. It won't even start with the key in the ignition. The only way to fix it is to take the negative off the battery and let it sit for a while. Is there anything that I can do to fix this? And if it helps I did have it professionally installed originate many many years ago. I can't help but feel it has something to do with the passlock that was installed.
Any help would be greatly appreciated thank you

I am guessing that the passlock module needs reprogrammed. If you find out what module is installed I am sure we can find a manual on how to reprogram the system.
