So I've got an Avalanche with the factory alarm and remote start. I was looking at the possibility of just adding additional sensors to the factory system. I've watched youtube videos of this on other vehicles but I'm wondering if anyone has done it for this vehicle or did they just add an aftermarket system? If so how difficult would it be?

So I just got off the line with Crutchfield. According to them, I can purchase the FlashLogic FLCAN and use it in conjunction with my factory system to add an aftermarket alarm to my factory remote start. I even asked if I needed to purchase an alarm/remote start system and they stated no just an alarm system and use one of the channels as the remote start trigger. Is this true?
